An average hides everything. Bixlow shows each goal by country, device, browser or source, up to three levels deep, and gives you a report ready to share.

- **By:** Goal
- **Segments:** Up to 3 levels
- **Modes:** Conversion and cohort
- **Report:** Printable, saves as PDF

## Why aggregate numbers mislead

The overall conversion rate goes up or down, but it rarely tells you why or where to act.

### The average hides the problem

Desktop converts well and mobile badly, but the overall figure looks fine and nobody digs underneath.

### Crossing segments takes an afternoon

Finding out how paid traffic on mobile converts in one country means exporting, filtering and building tables by hand.

### Two readings of the same period

"This week" can mean what sold this week or what this week's new visitors went on to do, and mixing the two leads to the wrong conclusions.

### The leadership report is built by hand

Every month someone pastes screenshots into a deck to explain what happened.

## From the overall number to the segment that matters

Analytics starts from the goals you already measure, with or without a test running.

1. **Pick the goal and the period.** Purchase, lead or any project goal: totals and how they change over time.
2. **Open the segment tree.** Split by one attribute, like country, and within each branch by another, like browser or UTM source. Up to three levels.
3. **Choose how to read the period.** In conversion mode, what converted in those dates. In cohort mode, the visitors who arrived in those dates and everything they converted afterwards.
4. **Share the report.** Print it or save it as PDF and send it to whoever has to decide.

## Analytics built for decisions

A few well-chosen views on the goals that actually matter.

### By goal: Every business outcome, on its own

Each goal has its own view, with conversions and value.

- Totals for the period.
- A time series to see the trend.
- Works without a test, on every plan.

### Segment tree: Drill down to where the difference is

Chain up to three attributes to find the segment pulling the average up or down.

- Up to 3 levels, for example country › browser › UTM source.
- Country, device, browser, OS, language, referrer, UTMs or new visitor.
- Conversion or cohort mode, depending on the question.

### Report: Ready for leadership

A printable version of your analytics, made to share outside the tool.

- Printable report from the browser.
- Saves as PDF to send around.
- The same numbers you see in Bixlow.

## The data shows where; the agent builds what

When the segment tree shows you where conversion is leaking, ask the agent for a hypothesis and a change for that segment.

### You decide

- Which goals to review and how often.
- Which segments deserve attention.
- Which finding becomes a hypothesis.
- What gets shared with leadership.

### The agent does

- Turns a finding into a hypothesis with its brief.
- Creates the audience for that segment.
- Builds the personalization or the test.
- Sets up the goals that measure the result.

### A finding in Bixlow

- **Goal:** Purchase
- **Segment:** US › Safari › utm_source = instagram
- **Mode:** Cohort · last 30 days
- **Finding:** Converts well below the rest of mobile
- **Next step:** Hypothesis and test for that segment

## FAQ

### What is the difference between conversion mode and cohort mode?

Conversion mode counts what converted within the chosen dates. Cohort mode takes the visitors who arrived in those dates and counts everything they converted afterwards. The first tells you how much business came in; the second is the one to use when comparing groups.

### How many levels of segmentation can I use?

Up to three, for example country, browser and UTM source, nested one inside the other.

### Can I export the data?

You can print the report or save it as PDF to share it.

### Do I need an A/B test to see analytics?

No. Analytics works on your goals, on every plan, with or without a test running.
