How to sync leads with HubSpot without code
A lead that reaches HubSpot as a bare email address tells sales almost nothing. How to send each conversion from your experiments to the CRM with its source, segment and variant attached, without writing the code yourself.
Capturing a lead on your site is half the work. If it reaches HubSpot without its context (the variant it saw, the segment it belongs to, the experiment that converted it), you lose the thread that connects what marketing did to what sales then does with that person.
Bixlow doesn't do this out of the box. You describe in the chat what should reach HubSpot and when, and the AI writes a Bixlow Function: a small piece of backend code that Bixlow hosts and runs for your project, with your HubSpot token stored as an encrypted secret. Your workflow calls it each time a lead converts, and you haven't written a line.
A lead that turns up in HubSpot as a lone email address is worth much less than one that arrives with its source, its segment and the experiment behind it. Without that, sales is guessing, and marketing can't attribute any result to its website experimentation.
Patching the site and the CRM together with standalone forms and CSV exports tends to break the first time someone changes a landing page.
The workflow already knows what happened on the page: the form fields, the experiment and the arm the visitor was assigned to. When the form is submitted, it passes that to the Function, and the Function calls the HubSpot API to create or update the contact. You agree the property mapping with the AI and can read the code before publishing. What teams usually send:
- the form data (email, name, company)
- the experiment and the variant the lead saw
- the segment or personalisation rule that applied
- the campaign source and UTMs
- a property or note HubSpot's own workflows can react to
If you want to sync leads with HubSpot this way, the properties have to exist in HubSpot first; the Function fills them, it doesn't design your CRM.
Once the lead is in HubSpot with that information, HubSpot's workflows can take over: route it to the right rep, start a nurturing sequence, or move certain segments up the queue. Your A/B testing stops living in its own corner and feeds the pipeline you actually sell from.
Marketing gets the integration by describing it, and engineering can still see exactly what runs, because the Function is plain code isolated per project and the token never reaches the browser. That makes it one of the less painful kinds of CRM integration to own. Before asking for it, agree with sales on which HubSpot property the experiment and variant should land in, so the reports they already use can show it. Functions are on the Premium plan.
