What is a CRO agent
A CRO agent is an artificial intelligence that does conversion rate optimization end to end: it looks at where your website loses sales or leads, proposes what to change, builds that change as an A/B test or a personalization, and tells you, with statistics, whether it worked.

How it differs from an AI assistant
An assistant helps with one task at a time: it writes a headline, suggests a colour or produces a snippet of CSS. Then you have to set it up, launch it and measure it. An agent runs the whole loop, and it stops to ask for your approval at every step.
Put another way: the assistant answers what you ask; the agent knows what comes next. If a test ends without a winner, it proposes the next one. If an audience behaves differently, it shows you.
What a CRO agent does, step by step
CRO work has always had four phases. What is new is a single tool doing all of them without a developer in the middle.
- Understand: it joins what your visitors do (where they come from, which device, where they drop off) with your business goals, such as a purchase or a submitted form.
- Decide: it writes a hypothesis with its reasoning, the change it proposes, who sees it and which metric decides the result.
- Act: it builds the variant on your live website and launches it as an A/B test or as a personalization for an audience.
- Measure: it counts each version's conversions and only names a winner when there is enough sample and probability.
CRO agent, classic A/B testing tool and agency
All three improve conversion. What changes is who does each part of the work.
| CRO agent | Classic tool | CRO agency | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who proposes what to test | The agent, with your approval | Your team | The agency |
| Who builds the variant | The agent | Your team or a developer | The agency |
| Who reads the result | The statistics engine, explained in plain words | Your team | The agency |
| From idea to running test | Minutes or hours | Days or weeks | Weeks |
| Typical cost | A subscription | A subscription plus developer hours | A monthly service fee |
These are rough ranges based on how each model works, not measurements.
What a CRO agent does not do
It publishes nothing on your site without your approval. It does not replace knowing what your business sells: you set the goals, the audiences and what must not be touched. And it does not make up results: if there is not enough traffic to decide, it says so.
Nor does it replace strategy. An agent is very good at finding and testing concrete improvements. Deciding that your store should change its pricing or its audience is still your call.
When it makes sense
It fits marketing and ecommerce teams that have ideas but no developer to build them, or whose developer is busy with other things. It also fits agencies that want to run more tests per client without hiring.
If you already have an experimentation team with dedicated developers and hundreds of tests a year, you may not need anyone to suggest ideas. Building variants without going through engineering still saves time.
Bixlow's CRO agent
Bixlow is an AI CRO agent that builds, launches and measures A/B tests and personalizations on your website without a developer. It installs with one script on any website (Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, WordPress, Webflow or a custom build), proposes hypotheses ranked by impact, builds the variants on your real site and uses Bayesian statistics to say when there is a winner. On the free plan it analyses your site and proposes hypotheses; the agent that builds variants and A/B tests start on the Standard plan.
