A/B test: say who you are in one line on the product page

If we add a sentence such as “Family shop in Valencia since 2015, we ship ourselves” to the product page, then orders from new visitors will rise, because a shop with a face and an address inspires more trust than an anonymous one.

Why it can work

A shopper arriving from Google or an ad lands straight on a product page. They haven't seen your homepage or your About page, and they won't go looking. To them you are one of twenty stores selling the same thing.

A line with a place, a year and a specific detail sets you apart from stores nobody can locate. It is a small thing, but it answers the question nobody says out loud: can I trust this?

How to set it up

In Bixlow you describe the change to the agent, it builds it on your site and launches it as an A/B test once you approve it. A/B tests are on the paid plans, starting with Standard.

  1. Write the line with true, checkable facts: where you are, since when, what you do yourselves (ship, make, curate).
  2. In the variant, place it near the buy button, in plain text, without looking like an ad. A small photo of the team or the warehouse can go with it.
  3. Add it to every product page, or to the ones that get the most new traffic.
  4. Run it on new visitors only.

Other versions worth trying

A service fact instead of a story: “We pack your order in our own warehouse, no middlemen”. Or the same line in the cart instead of the product page.

FAQ

Who we are in one line

What if I'm not a family shop?

Use whatever is true and specific: “Three friends in Bristol since 2021”, “Our own workshop”, “Shipped from Manchester”. What matters is the place and the detail, not the label.

Why new visitors only?

Because returning customers already trust you. Including them dilutes the effect and it takes longer to know whether it works.

Isn't my About page enough?

Very few people visit it, and almost never someone who has just landed on a product page. The idea is to bring the essentials to where the shopper already is.
