A/B test: keep the order summary open in the mobile checkout
If the mobile checkout shows the summary with products and total open rather than collapsed, then orders will rise, because people want to confirm what they are paying for before handing over their card.

Why it can work
On mobile, almost every checkout folds the summary into a thin bar reading “Show order summary · €62.40”. It saves space, which makes sense. The trouble is the shopper sees a number and not where it comes from.
Did I pick the right size? Was the discount applied? How much is shipping? If checking means opening and closing things, some people go back to the cart to look, and get distracted on the way.
How to set it up
Check your platform first. Many of them restrict what can be changed inside the checkout, and Shopify is the strictest: there you may only be able to run this test in the cart or on what shoppers see before paying. On WooCommerce or PrestaShop the checkout is just another page of your site and can be tested like any other.
In Bixlow you describe the change to the agent, it builds it on your site and launches it as an A/B test once you approve it. A/B tests are on the paid plans, starting with Standard.
- In the variant, the summary loads expanded: small photo, name, size or variant, quantity, shipping and total.
- If the order has many items, show the first two and a “see 3 more” link so the form isn't pushed too far down.
- Keep the option to collapse it for anyone who wants to.
- Mobile only: on desktop the summary is usually visible already in a side column.
What to measure
| Metric | |
|---|---|
| Primary metric | Orders per visitor on mobile |
| Metric that must not get worse | Trips back from checkout to the cart |
| Where it is measured | On the order confirmation page |
